The next day Brain tries to leave his monster self a message about how to steal the crown jewels, but the monster can’t read. Still, after another rampage that night, he recalls the plan in the recesses of his mind, and they carry it out. But before they can return to the hotel with the jewels, they return to normal. The mice head off to kill the rabbit and cure themselves, but end up being bitten by vampire bunnies…

Pages (out of 32): 12 pp.

AYPWIP:
BRAIN: Pinky, are you pondering what I’m pondering?

PINKY: I think so, Brain! But no more eels in jelly for me, thanks—I like my gelatin after lunch.

Quote of the Story:
PINKY: Egad, Brain! To think we swapped our cage for this English room! They don’t even have a running wheel! And why do they serve the food pellets at room temperature?

BRAIN: Enough cultural commentary, Pinky—that was no ordinary rabbit that attacked us.

PINKY: Yes, at home the rabbits only mug you when you have a carrot!

Review:
Somewhat reminiscent of the TV short “Brain Meets Brawn.” I wonder, are we to believe that there was a full moon every night? Then again, that may well have been a poke at the various horror ‘flics which make just that error. While nothing special, this is still a fun story that most P&tB fans will enjoy. Some top-notch artwork by Carzon helps this story greatly, as well as some nice coloring in the nighttime scenes.

Rating: ½

Title: “Scream and Scream Again”

Writer: Jesse Leon McCann
Pencillers: Walter Carzon & Pablo Zamboni
Inker: Horacio Ottolini
Letterer: John Costanza
Colorist: Mark Severin

Summary:
Brain infiltrates a group of teenage girls to learn their greatest fear, but what the mice must put up with is worse than any other imaginable horror…

Description:
Brain plans to scare all the teenage girl babysitters in the world into staying home, forcing world leaders to have to stay home with their children. To find their worst fear he becomes one of them using the mechanical suit. He must put up with constant talk about hair, nails, and boys, and endure makeovers. At a sleepover, he finds that their worst fear is a bad hair day, and assigns Pinky to call all the girls in the tri-state area to give them a bad hair day over the phone. Pinky instead spends all night talking on the “Leo Hotline.” The next morning the girl’s father finds the huge phone bill and takes away all the girls’ phone privileges—the ultimate horror.

Pages (out of 32): 11 pp.

AYPWIP:
BRAIN: Pinky—are you pondering what I’m pondering?

PINKY: I think so, Brain, but I didn’t know 90210 was a real zip code! Will Tori be there?

Quote of the Story:
PINKY: Well, what do you know about teenaged girls, Brain?

BRAIN: What’s to know?

PINKY: Well, who’s the cute guy on Party of Five?

BRAIN: Number Three?

PINKY: No…on Dawson’s Creek?

BRAIN: Er, Richard Dawson? No, wait…the Beaver?

PINKY: Try an easy one. From Titanic?

BRAIN: The captain, of course—he was so manly and heroic!

PINKY: Oh, that will never do, Brain. You’re about as hip and cool as my Aunt Beauregarde! And she thought “Hansen” was a fruit drink!

BRAIN: How do you know so much about this, Pinky?

PINKY: I watch a lot of The WB!

Review:
A rather bizarre way to round out the series…still, despite the “weird” factor, this story is pretty darn good. I wonder if Brain would really go to this extent even for world domination, and the depictions of teenage girls are probably more than a little stereotypical, albeit highly amusing. This story makes some biting comments on teenage pop culture, as well as having some very funny bits. Recommended, for those who have the stomach to take it… ;)
