Narf!
Review:
A fun tale for kids of all ages. Just a good-natured
jab at Saint Nick and the holiday festivities, which
never gets mean or spiteful. Includes references to
such Santa classics as Miracle
on 34th
Street and Virginia’s famous letter. Be sure

Wonderful Narf”

Colorist: Prismacolor
Summary:
In a spoof of Frank Capra’s holiday classic, Brain
shows Pinky how important he really is.
Description:
After Pinky lowers the interest rates at Brain’s
lending firm to 0%, Brain gets extremely ticked off.
He really digs into Pinky, going so far to say
he’s not a friend, just a “pest.” Pinky runs
off in tears and Brain seriously regrets his harsh
words. As Pinky is about to jump off a bridge, a
Brain-ish angel shows up and shows Pinky what the
world would be like without him. The streets are
covered with lounges, bums, and prostitutes (!!!),
Snowball is mayor, and Acme Labs is closed. Brain
still hasn’t taken over the world even without
Pinky’s meddling, and is lonely and depressed.
Pinky begs the angel to change things back. In the
closing shot, we see that the whole thing was a
setup by Brain to show Pinky how important he is to
Brain.
Includes another
semi-cameo by Billie.

AYPWIP:
BRAIN: Are you
pondering what I’m pondering? [Turns around.
Pinky, who has been spying, quickly ducks out of
sight. Seeing no one, Brain sighs.]
Quote of the Story:
PINKY: Who are you?
BRAIN/ANGEL: I’m
one of the eternal souls known to man as the Angels.
PINKY: Oh, no! I
don’t want to have anything to do with any more
biker gangs!
Review:
Another dramatic effort by McCann, also very
effective. A wonderful story that will be enjoyed by
P&tB fans of all ages, with terrific artwork
besides. Also, the return of Pinky’s tricycle
(last seen in “Hex Breaker”). Very highly
recommended.
