Summary:
The mice join a biker gang in order to take over the
world using several semi-famous landmarks. Things
are complicated when the leader’s former boyfriend
shows up.
Description:
Brain plans to take over the world by covering South
Dakota’s Corn Palace with the World’s Largest
Tin Foil Ball from North Dakota, and tying it all
together with the World’s Biggest Ball of Twine
from Minnesota, then letting it bake in the sun and
filling the whole thing with carbon monoxide,
resulting in a new energy source. They join a biker
gang, the “Hades Ladies,” to utilize their
carbon monoxide. The group’s leader, Sadie, falls
in love with Pinky while “Bertha” goes for
Brain. But Sadie’s ex, Studs McKnuckles, shows up.
He helps them get the tin foil ball, but when they
get to the twine ball, he ties up the gang and
nearly puts the mice through a wood chopper when the
law enforcement shows up. They head to the corn
palace and put their plan into action. But Pinky,
without Brain knowing it, tells the handyman to fix
the thermostat and put it to full blast. The room
becomes *TOO*
warm, and the corn pops, knocking out the Ladies.
The mice quickly flee.
Includes cameos by
Porky Pig and Weird Al Yankovich.

BRAIN: Pinky! Are you
pondering what I’m pondering?
PINKY: I think so,
Brain! We’ll dress up like biker dudes and
infiltrate the “Hades Ladies.” Then we’ll
convince them to hold a meeting inside the corn
palace. Narf! The resulting carbon-monoxide buildup
will allow you to complete your energy-making device
and shortly after, you will rule the world!
BRAIN: Actually, I
was thinking of calling the police. But I like your
idea better!
PINKY: I’m honored,
Brain…er, what was my idea again?
Quote of the Story:
PINKY: Oh dear,
I’ve heard about these huge mega-shopping mart
complex-thingies! My Uncle Morrie once got lost in
one so long that when he found his way out, he was a
great-grandfather.
BRAIN: That’s a
neat trick. Must have come as a great surprise.
PINKY: Yes,
especially to Aunt Bernice! Narf!
Review:
A bizarre idea to be sure, and the plot is pretty
thin. Still, there are lots of great lines in here
and it shapes up to be quite a funny story. Carzon,
as usual, does an excellent job in the art
department (especially on Sadie…rowr!).
Unfortunately, Prismacolor’s special effects on
the tinfoil ball fall flat, because as neat as it
looks, it completely clashes with Carzon’s
hand-drawn work. It’s also marred by one or two
off-color jokes. But all in all, a very funny, if
somewhat odd, story.
