In Ancient Egypt, Brain wants to unlock

half of the amulet he needs for the task, but the
pharaoh has the other. So, he becomes “King Touch
Uncommon,” a dead pharaoh come back to life. The
pharaoh says he must perform three curses before
nightfall. He performs two, no thanks to Pinky, and
an eclipse provides him with the third. He gets the
amulet, but is exposed as a mouse and kicked out of
Egypt.

AYPWIP:
BRAIN: Are you pondering what I’m pondering,
Pinky?
PINKY: I think so,
Brain. But Trojans won’t arrive on the scene for
another 300 years.
Quote of the
Story:
PINKY: Um…come one, come all! See the amazing,
colossal, dead King Touch Uncommon—a real, live
dead pharaoh back from…er, a successful run at the
Palace of Ra! Did I mention he was dead?…but
he’s not smelly or anything…well, not much,
anyway…
Review:
A pretty enjoyable story. McCann seems to have a
fascination with the mice performing three trials.
Still, what it lacks in plot, it makes up for in
good gags and great artwork. A nice story to have in
your collection…

greatest men of our time belong.
Description:
The mice join Kappa Delta Gamma, the fraternity to
which many of the world’s greatest men belong. The
dean has told the members of the frat that they need
a new president. They want a patsy who won’t
interfere with their fun and Pinky is the perfect
candidate, and so is made president. The mice
organize the homecoming—they’ll gather all the
famous alumni and hold them all captive in the giant
lab cage atop a car, which is part of the “Better
Living Through Science” theme. But Pinky must
drive the car, with the predicted results…

AYPWIP:
BRAIN: Pinky, are you pondering what I’m
pondering?
PINKY: I think so,
Brain…but where would a yak put PVC tubing?
Quote of the
Story:
PINKY: President! Whee! Only in America can a
poor lab mouse grow up to be president! Narf!
Review:
Useless Fact: McLaughlin was a Production Assistant
on the P&tB TV show and co-wrote the episode
“Two Mice and a Baby.” However, it seems that
his style is better-suited to TV rather than comics.
This story is all over the place, and at times is
very confusing (not to mention that it probably had
Costanza working over time putting in all those word
balloons!). Even the artwork isn’t all that
terrific—I think I’ve found Carzon’s weakness:
he’s not particularly good with caricatures.
