A send-up of
Evita.
Description:
The country of Oranjina is in a bad state.
Brain decides to take advantage of this by feeding the starving masses with a
cheese he's learned to make without milk. For the proper tools he heads to the
local Acme Labs, but the experiments they perform on him turn him temporarily
blue—a color outlawed in Oranjina. He dresses as a woman and seduces Juan J.
Two-Tone, the dictator. The people fall in love with "Brainita" for
"her" trendy fashion. When he has a relapse of the blue color, he's
in seclusion for months, and is finally thrown out in favor of Two-Tone's
latest fling, "Clover."
Done (almost) entirely in rhyme.
Pages (out of 32): 12 pp.
AYPWIP:
BRAIN: [Singing.]: Eureka, Pinky! Are you thinking what I'm
thinking?
PINKY: [Also singing.]: I think so, Brain,
But Madonna's stock is sinking.
Quote of the Story:
PINKY: Ooooh, that last rhyme really reeked, Brain.
BRAIN: Work with me, Pinky.
Review:
A rather lame outset isn't helped by mediocre
writing. Many of the rhymes are quite weak, and there aren't many really funny
bits at all. Plus, the whole "blue" angle seemed contrived. And Brain
crossdressing is pretty out of character—and it isn't even particularly funny
here (as it was in J. L. McCann's "The 7th Wife of Henry the 8th"). Still, a few decent lines, and
some terrific artwork by Carzon salvage this tale. Carzon, a native of
Argentina, does a nice job on the Oranjinian landscape.

Title: "Tongue Tiwsted"
Writer: Matt Wayne
Penciller: Leo Batic
Inker: Jim Amash
Letterer: Phil Felix
Colorist: Bob LeRose
Summary:
Scratchansniff tries some tongue twisters on the
Warners.
Description:
After the Warners give him the typical hard
time, Scratchy decides to use tongue twisters to dive deeper into their psyche.
Of course, the three soon have *HIM* trying to say the twisters until he's
hopelessly confused. At the end, they find that Wakko is—TONGUE TIED!
Pages (out of 32): 6 pp.
Quote of the Story:
SCRATCHANSNIFF: It's Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers! Rubber Baby
Buggy Bumpers! Rubba Bagga Buggy Bloompers! Rugga Bumpy Baby Butter! Rooba
Booba Bubba Boompar… Wubba Dubba Dubba Dubba Dubba…
YAKKO: He's one step away from plugging the Network. It must
be brain damage.
Review:
In this highly enjoyable tale, Wayne really flaunts
his talent for wordplay. Lots of typical Warner silliness, and some great
verbal humor.

Title: "Boo-permodel!"
Writer: Matt Wayne
Penciller: Leo Batic
Inker: Jim Amash
Letterer: Phil Felix
Colorist: Bob LeRose
Summary:
Boo becomes a model.
Description:
Boo, uh…becomes a model. Not much more to it
than that.
Pages (out of 32): 4 pp.
Quote of the Story:
BOO: Buk-b'kaaaa!
Review:
Wayne's first attempt at a story that doesn't deal
in wordplay and lyrics is a big disappointment. The expected "model"
satire abounds (anorexia, plastic surgery, etc.), as well as chicken
"breast" jokes and the like. Not bad, per se, but not really good
either.
