$1.95 U.S./ $2.75 Canada

Summary:
Dot switches places with "Pretty Kitty" of Japan.

Description:
The Warners are terrorizing everyone on the lot as usual, and Plotz, planning to dezanitize them by separating the trio, sends Dot off to Japan as part of a culture exchange program. The brothers receive their new "sister" for the next two weeks: a cartoon cat with no mouth named Pretty Kitty. Yakko & Wakko traumatize the poor thing with their usual shenanigans, as Dot becomes extremely popular in Japan—until she pulls a George Bush impersonation at the Imperial Palace.

Pages (out of 32): 10 pp.

Quote of the Story:
WAKKO: [Terrorizing Pretty Kitty.]: If olive oil comes from olives, and corn oil comes from corn, where does baby oil come from?

Review:
One of the last true classics of the series. There are so many bits in here that are absolutely hilarious—the "challenging the mouthless kitty to a burping contest" is a highlight. You don't have to be a fan of Japanese culture to enjoy this little piece of silliness. Carolan & Moore at their best.

Title: Mindy & Buttons in "Babyface"

Writer: Dana Kurtin
Penciller:
Leonardo Batic
Inker:
Jim Amash
Letterer:
Teresa Davidson
Colorist:
Prismacolor

Summary:
Mindy participates in a baby beauty contest.

Description:
Lady enters Mindy in the "Golden Diaper" baby pageant, and leaves her there, with Buttons to keep an eye on her. Another baby and her mother try to eliminate Mindy, and Buttons must protect her, ending up the butt of the tricks, as usual. In the end, the mother and baby are revealed as baby pageant scam artists.

Pages (out of 32): 8 pp.

Quote of the Story:
HOST: Welcome to the Miss Golden Diaper (of the Bi-Coastal-Tri-Regional-Southern-California-Not -Including-Encino) Beautiful Baby Pageant--where you can dress your baby like a floozy among your peers!

Review:
The typical M&B outing. A few good gags, a few dumb ones, but mostly the usual mediocre M&B fare.

Title: "Cute Only Goes So Far"

Writers: Sean Carolan & Jennifer Moore
Penciller:
Leonardo Batic
Inker:
Scott McRae
Letterer:
John Costanza
Colorist:
Prismacolor

Summary:
Skippy has an annoyingly adorable girl over, much to Slappy's chagrin.

Description:
Buffy, a cloying cute girl bunny, comes to visit Skippy. Slappy attempts to sit quietly in the background as she watches Buffy completely use her nephew. Finally, with Slappy's nudging, Skippy asks Buffy on a date. She flatly refuses, and when it becomes painfully clear that she never really liked him, he gets the explosives out and makes Slappy proud.

Pages (out of 32): 6 pp.

Quote of the Story:
BUFFY: …But I could never go out with you! *Giggle*! I don't think of you as a real guy, even! You're more like the little brother I never had. No, wait! You're more like the ugly little sister I never had! That's it…the ugly little sister with the webbed toes that we kept locked in the attic! Now go fetch my homework, 'kay?

Review:
A very funny story, which is also quite accurate in its depiction of "puppy love." Slappy may actually be the most interesting one to watch in this story—keep an eye on some of her reactions in the background. Kudos to Carolan & Moore on yet another hit (and to Batic for making Buffy almost sickeningly cute).
