Summary:
The Warners' long-lost cousin Sakko returns to the
Studio.
Description:
The
Warners' cousin Sakko returns . A short
flashback reveals that he'd run off to join the Hermits, then became an
employee of Forgettable Films. But now WB has bought Forgettable Films, so he's
back with his sibs. The execs decide to make a reunion movie. Then the sibs go
on Barry Slinger. It turns out that the "reunion film" is actually
Scratchansniff's first try at directing—it's an action/horror flick. Sakko
steals the spotlight, but feels sorry for short-shrifting his cousins, and so
lets them direct.
Pages (out of 32): 12 pp.
Quote of the Story:
SCRACHANSNIFF: Vell, Nurse, it's a dream come true! I've
left my practice to direct a movie zhat iz a stirring psychological drama--'Za
Giant Brain That Attacked New York Vhile Facing a Mid-Life Crisis!'
Review:
It's hard to find a place to begin listing this
story's faults. For one, it's 12 pages, yet almost nothing happens. It's all
over the place: there's no focus, and we jump from one scene to the next with
no clear direction or point of destination. Sakko just shows up out of nowhere,
and all the scenes that follow have absolutely nothing to do with one another,
aside from the presence of Sakko. Plus, Matheny needs a few anvils to the head
to knock some sense into him, just for doing something so stupid as introducing
a cousin for the Warners. And why does he look like a stereotypical Southern
general (complete with handlebar mustache and general's uniform)? Despite a
couple of good bits, this story has very, very few redeeming qualities, and
stops just short of being a total failure.

Summary:
The squirrels hit the road, as Walter, Sid, &
Beanie try to exterminate Slappy.
Description:
Skippy must return to school in a week and has
nothing to write for the typical busywork "How I Spent My Summer"
paper. So he and Slappy go on a road trip, searching out memorable experiences
for him to write about. However, Slappy only takes him to dumb tourist traps.
What's worse, most of the trip is spent by Slappy outwitting Walter, Sid, and
Beanie, who repeatedly try to bump her off. When Skippy returns to school, his
report doesn't go over too well…
Pages (out of 32): 12 pp.
Quote of the Story:
SKIPPY: Next summer, can't you try to take over the world or
something?
SLAPPY: Not my franchise, kid.
Review:
Pretty much the typical
"Slappy-blows-up-her-three-enemies" treatment, with not all that many
great gags. But there's still enough good bits to keep the audience amused,
most of the time (the "Giant Muffler Man" bit is a highlight).
