Annoyah LeCreep sets her sights on the Warners' furs.

Description:
Annoyah LeCreep, collector of exotic furs, decides she wants Yakko, Wakko, & Dot's. So she sends her Beatles knockoff henchmen Lemmon and McPaul to capture them. The trio lets themselves be captured, but annoys the heck out of the henchmen and Annoyah, finally introducing her to all the animals that she's stolen fur from, á la This is Your Life, and she gets her comeuppance. The henchmen start a band.

Pages (out of 32): 10 pp.

Quote of the Story:
[Robin Bleech is wrapping up his Lifestyles of the Animated and Obnoxious interview with the Warners.]

DOT: Wait, Robin! What about the special liposuction surprise we were going to give you?

YAKKO: Quick! Somebody start the "Full House" rerun before this gets nasty!

Review:
Matheny's debut is an up-and-down experience. There are certainly lots of jabs and parodies, most of which are quite funny, but the story is a bit weak in places. The Beatles knockoff henchmen are a rather lame addition to the plot, without many funny lines—and the gag of them getting all the lines they'd later use in famous songs was already done in the P&tB comic "The Mod Couple." Plus, all the gags seem a bit rushed—the next gag begins when the previous one has barely had a chance to finish. Even though this is a comic, timing is still an important part of the comedy, rather than just trying to jam as many funny bits into 10 pp. as possible, as Matheny does here. But it's still a pretty amusing story, and *MUCH* better some of the stuff Matheny would later turn out.

Title: "The Usual Boo!" (NOTE: There are no credits listed for this comic.)

Penciller: Omar Aranda

Description:
Clint Eastwood questions a crime suspect, who turns out to be Boo.

Pages (out of 32): 2 pp.

Review:
As one can probably tell from the description, not much substance…still, it's only filler

Title: "A Slappy Salute"

Writer: Bill Matheny
Penciller:
Leo Batic
Inker:
Scott McRae
Letterer:
John Costanza
Colorist:
Prismacolor

Summary:
Walter Wolf hosts a tribute to Slappy.

Description:
Skippy has convinced the Film Academy to hold a tribute to Slappy. Walter is asked to host, as he presents an endless flow of guests complaining about the hard time they had working with Slappy. She assures Walter that he's ten times better at taking falls than they are. Then Slappy gets tired of the ceremony and blows the whole place sky-high…

Pages (out of 32): 10 pp.

Review:
Eh…a rather so-so effort. Aside from having the same timing problems as "101 Darnations," this story isn't terribly funny anyway, and some parts of it seem downright meanspirited (esp. toward Walt Disney). Slappy also seems a bit more bitter than she should be, blowing up Walter for absolutely no reason. Besides, the whole concept is fairly similar to the TV cartoon "Hooray for Slappy."

Rating:   ˝

Title: "Tales of Randy Beaman" (NOTE: There are no credits listed for this comic.)

By: Neal Sternecky

Description:
The milk-coming-out-the-nose bit, with a new twist.

Pages (out of 32): 1 p.

Review:
One of the funnier ones of these I've seen. Good to know Sternecky's still around…

Rating:

Title: Good Idea / Bad Idea: "Theme Parks" (NOTE: There are no credits listed for this comic.)

Penciller: Leonardo Batic

Description:
Three GIBIs, with the Warners and Scratchy subbing for Mr. Skullhead.

Pages (out of 32): 1 p.

Review:
Purty goot.
