Summary:
The Goodfeathers take their goils to Brooklyn.

Description:
The Girlfeathers catch their uncultured boyfriends ogling some bathing beauties and want to do something cultured for a change. So the boids take them to Brooklyn, where their activities consist of seeing the former site of Ebbett's Field and letting loose on unsuspecting tourists below. Upon returning home, the Goodfeathers catch their girls checking out some hunks.

Pages (out of 32): 6 pp. (wraparound; 2 pp. at the beginning of the issue, 2 pp. between the two stories in the issue, and 2 pp. at the end of the issue)

Quote of the Story:
SQUIT: Gee, maybe I shoulda treated Sasha more nice. She's different from other chicks.

BOBBY: Yeah, she'll go out with you.

Review:
A fairly enjoyable wraparound. Some jokes work, some fall flat, but the entire story has an overall pleasing effect, due in some part to Batic's usual great artwork. Bassoukos' coloring also does a nice job of setting the mood.

Rating:

Title: "Artful Dodgers"

Writers: Sean Carolan & Jennifer Moore
Penciller:
Omar Aranda
Inker:
Scott McRae
Letterer:
Lorina Mapa
Colorist:
Jo Meugniot

Summary:
The Warners attend the last game of the 1955 World Series.

Description:
The Warners are watching the last game of the 1955 World Series, the Brooklyn "Codgers" vs. the Bronx Bombers. The Codgers are all old and slow, and are getting creamed. But the Warners go out looking for some sauce for Wakko's beef and end up becoming the Bombers' Batboys (and girl), which leads to them ultimately getting the Bombers thrown out of the stadium. With the Bombers gone, it only takes the Codgers twelve more innings to win the game.

Pages (out of 32): 8 pp.

Quote of the Story:
WAKKO: [Eating his huge beef]: Yakko, have you got any sauce?

YAKKO: Sorry, but I left it in my other pants.

DOT: Mmmm-wah*! G'night everybody!

Review:
Another thoroughly enjoyable Carolan/Moore romp. The jokes are fast and funny, and for perhaps the first time, Aranda's work is a help rather than a hindrance to the writers—while he's still no Batic, he has some very nice poses and expressions (his Adam West-ish toothy grin on the "Batboy" Wakko is absolutely priceless). Great job by all!

Title: "Brooklyn Brain"

Writer: Dana Kurtin
Penciller:
Walter Carzon
Inker:
Horacio Ottolini
Letterer:
Lorina Mapa
Colorist:
Demetrius Bassoukos

Summary:
Brain plans to take over the building of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Description:
In the 19th century, Brain's plan to build inflatable busts for women needs funding, so he decides to become overseer on the Brooklyn Bridge, and charge a fortune in tolls. He claims to be the son of the bridge's deceased engineer, but the real son challenges this claim. This leads to several tests, the last of which is the mother identifying them by the "tushie she diapered." Brain decides to use the inflatable bust, since mice don't have tushies, but thanks to Pinky's idiocy, they float away…

Pages (out of 32): 10 pp.

AYPWIP:
BRAIN: Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Pinky?

PINKY: I think so, Brain, but can you use the word "asphalt" in polite society?

Quote of the Story:
[Brain must prove that he's a real engineer.]

BRAIN: Then bring on the bridge plans! I'll show you how a real engineer handles a project this size! [Upon being presented with the plans.]: Yo, what is this? I can't read this. It's like, illegible. Heck, let's just wing that puppy.

ROEBLING: Curses! He is an engineer!

Review:
Every other joke in this story is relating to the derriere or some other off-color object of "humor," and the overall result is a very tasteless, unfunny story. A true pity, as it brings down the overall quality of this issue as a whole quite a bit, not to mention squandering Carzon's great talents, which are as prominent as ever here.

The mice's official last regular appearance in the A! comics.
