An adaptation of the TV show's adaptation of the classic story.
Description:
Slappy tells Skippy a bedtime story—a parody of
"'Twas the Night Before Christmas." Someone must deliver the Warners'
Christmas presents, dressed as Santa, and due to his stupidity and waistline,
Ralph is chosen. He carries out his work as most of the other A! cast members
pop in for some Christmas cheer, with an appearance by the real Santa to boot!
Pages (out of 32): 14 pp.
Quote of the Story:
SLAPPY: You should've been asleep hours ago!
SKIPPY: I know, Aunt Slappy, but I can't sleep! I keep
hearing Santa's sleigh!
SLAPPY: Eh, that's just the L.A.P.D. choppers!
Review:
Stays *VERY* close to the cartoon, so this one
doesn't get any points for originality…still, it's nice to see a classic A! ep
in comic form, and Sternecky makes an impressive debut. Those who *HAVEN'T*
seen the TV episode should really love it…
Rating:
½
Title: "Good Idea/Bad Idea" (NOTE: There are no credits
listed for this comic.)
Penciller: Neal Sternecky
Description: A series of Christmas-oriented GIBIs.
Pages (out of 32): 1 p.
Review:
Eh…not terribly funny…but after all, it
*IS* just
filler, so we can't be *TOO* hard on it…

Title: Animaniacs: "The Taming of the Screwy"
Writer: Paul Rugg
Artist: George Wildman
Letterer: Bob Pinaha
Colorist: Dave Tanguay
Summary:
Another TV adaptation. Watch the cartoon, it's
better.
Description:
After a brief recap of the
Warners' origin, we move
on to the plot—Scratchansniff must train the Warners to be polite children so
they can attend a Studio party being thrown for cowboy billionaire Slim
Pittman, who plans to give the Studio a billion dollar check. The Warners
behave, but Plotz throws them out anyway. So they return and wreak havoc.
Pittman enjoys it, though, and decides to give Plotz the check.
Pages (out of 32): 9 pp.
Quote of the Story:
YAKKO: I know when we're not wanted! I know when we should
just go home! This isn't one of those times!
Review:
Paul Rugg, writer extraordinaire for the Animaniacs
and Freakazoid! series, and quite possibly the funniest person to work at WBA
television, is the credited writer here. If he did write this drek, he *REALLY*
dropped the ball. He takes one of the best scripts of the entire A! TV series
(written by Peter Hastings) and manages to make it completely unfunny.
Wildman's art doesn't help matters—his work would make the best-written stories
hardly enjoyable. This one is downright unreadable.
