Summary: The arrival of two of
Darkseid's minions
spells big trouble for Green Lantern and his power
ring, the object of their larcenous intentions.
Description: Amazing
Grace causes trouble to breakout at the coffee shop underneath Kyle Rayner's
apartment in an effort to draw out Green Lantern. Unbeknownst to her, Glorious
Godfrey has followed her from Apokolips with the same intentions of stealing
Green Lantern's Power Ring. Soon overworked artist Kyle Rayner dons his Lantern
garb and heads out to breakup the riot caused by Amazing Grace's handiwork, but
Godfrey steps in and overpowers the Lantern's psyche and claims the ring. After
discovering that the ring will only operate for it's true owner, Godfrey decides
if he can't control the ring he'll control the ring's owner. But this time the
Lantern is ready and Godfrey has to broker a deal with Amazing Grace in an
attempt to defeat him. Calling upon all of his willpower and recalling the Green
Lantern legacy, the Lantern is able to defeat Amazing Grace and Godfrey who
never the less manage to escape back to Apokolips courtesy of a disappointed
Darkseid. Finally Kyle Rayner heads back to his drawing board to meet his
deadlines.

Quote of the Story:
Kyle Rayner - When are people going to learn that "Cartoon" doesn't
mean "Stupid"?
Review:
A good story, enjoyable from beginning to end. Even though the villains are
second rate, Kyle Rayner/Green Lantern carries the load. The issue has the animated feel to it
that I love and would make a great episode one day (always hopeful). Still it's
not up to the Dini standard, but the series seems to be making positive steps.
Love Delaney's art.

Summary:
Inmates take over a live telecast of Mister Miracle's
attempt to escape from Slabside Island maximum-security penitentiary, and force
Mr. Miracle to help their boss escape.
Description:
Inmates under the direction of "Mad Dog" McCoy
("Winky" to most of the Slabside residents) commandeer a live
broadcast of an escape attempt by the world's greatest escape artist, Mr.
Miracle. By threat of harm to their hostages, Mr. Miracle is forced to aid in
the escape of "Mad Dog". As an automated camera follows, Miracle makes
his way through the bowels of the prison with "Mad Dog" McCoy close
behind but out of the camera's sight. After enduring the hazardous path being
blazed by Mr. Miracle, "Mad Dog" McCoy is unwittingly brought back to
the very room which they originally "escaped" from. While Big Barda
has used a temporary power outage (courtesy of Mr. Miracle) as a diversion and
cleaned the clocks of all the inmates, leaving Winky nothing to do but sulk in
his cell upon his return.

Review:
Lame. Lame. Lame. Maybe this story is readable to
someone under the age of 10, but not to the rest of
us. A waste of time a space, it looks like the story
was just thrown together to fill pages. Very
disappointing.
