Jerry Beck Previews Nicktoons on Jan 10

Animation historian Jerry Beck will be hosting a preview screening of six new short films at the Nicktoons Studios in Burbank, CA, on January 10, 2007. The screenings will be from Random Cartoons, a new series for Nickelodeon from Studio Frederator, and will include Beck’s own “Hornswiggle.” The event is open to members of ASIFA-Hollywood.

Animator Helen Hill Shot and Killed in New Orleans

South Carolina’s The State newspaper is reporting that filmmaker/animator Helen Hill was shot and killed in New Orleans, Louisiana, early in the morning of January 4, 2007. She was 36 years old.
