The Walt Disney Company announced that it has entered into a deal with director Robert Zemeckis (The Polar Express) to establish a new film company that will develop 3-D animated movies using performance-capture technology. The deal stipulates that Zemeckis will produce and direct an undisclosed number of movies for the film company.
The Los Angeles Times has profiled director Michael Arias, the American-born director of the anime movie Tekkon Kinkreet (free registration required).
