"Ruby Spears Superman": Lost in the Phantom Zone

by Chad Boninon November 11, 2009
Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superman! Before he died; before he went electric blue; before he was Commander Kal-El of New Krypton; before television focused on his marriage to Lois Lane, his friendship with Lex Luthor, and his burgeoning place in the ever-expanding animated DC Universe: Before any […]

"Saturday Morning Cartoons: The 1970s Vol. 2": The Nightmare Continues

by Maxie Zeuson November 4, 2009
I recently confessed to being a child of the 1970s, which in animation terms is like confessing to having grown up on a Nevada A-bomb test site. If you want to extend the analogy, that would make the sale and distribution of Saturday Morning Cartoons: The 1970s, Vol. 2 roughly equivalent to the sale and […]

by Replikon Xumon November 3, 2009
“He can spring! He can stretch! He can fly! He can bounce! He can change his shape! And… he can even dance!” That booming introduction from Michael Rye effectively introduces the stretchy star of the Plastic Man: The Complete Collection DVD set. Why “Epilogue” Honors Terry McGinnis

by Todd "GWOtaku" DuBoison October 26, 2009
Epilogue just might be one of the best remembered episodes of Justice League Unlimited, if not the DC Animated Universe itself. For DC animation fans, it hardly needs introduction. In terms of chronology it currently stands as the last DCAU episode, and it ended it where it began: with Batman. Rather than the usual action […]

"Tokyo Majin" Complete Series: Strong Start, Weak Finish

by Ed Liuon October 22, 2009
I am a dyed-in-the-wool New York Knicks fan, even though I don’t follow the team religiously, and this means that I have had to get used to the team’s singular talent for blowing a lead. In recent years, you could depend on them to take a 20-point lead at the half and blow it by […]

Cast in Plastic: Toon Zone Interviews Michael Bell on Being "Plastic Man"

by Replikon Xumon October 20, 2009
Michael Bell is one of the most prominent actors and voice-over actors working today, with hundreds of roles in films and television that literally far outweighs the careers of his compatriots on the Screen Actors Guild board (as you will understand in a moment). He also lent (okay, sold) his voice to numerous video games, […]
