"The Animation Show" Vol. 3 Coming to DVD June 3

Vandals Love SpongeBob

Vandals painted a ten-foot tall picture of SpongeBob SquarePants on the chimney of a historic Forest Service cabin in the Pike National Service, the Associated Press reports. The Forest Service estimates it will cost several thousand dollars to scrub the image from the building.

"Witchblade" Getting Live-Action Adaptation

Platinum Studios and Arclight Films will produce a live-action adaptation of Witchblade, the comic book title most recently seen in the US as a Gonzo-made anime series, Variety says. Casting, writing, and directing duties have not been announced yet.

Alvin and the Chipmunks sold 210,000 DVD units in the latest reporting period, while Enchanted continued to sell well with 142,000 unit sales, according to data complied by TheNumbers.com. Other animated titles placing in the top 30 DVD sales for the week were Bee Movie (88,000), 101 Dalmatians (33,000) and Beowulf (16,000).
