"Shingu" Aliens Are Here, But Does Anyone Care?

by Dukeon November 12, 2006
I will say this for Shingu: It’s definitely different from all the other alien invasion anime shows out there. Whether that’s a good thing…that’s debatable. The year is 2070. No longer do Japanese school kids wear uniforms to school. Everyone has a laptop which can fold into a tablet barely thicker than a piece of […]

"Emperor's New School": No School Means Good Episode

by Dukeon November 11, 2006
It’s been so long since I’ve watched a Disney Channel cartoon from start to finish. I stopped watching the Disney Afternoon block when Gargoyles’ second season ended, I could never sit through an entire episode of Kim Possible and virtually nothing else on the channel interests me. Yeah, there is W.i.t.c.h. on Toon Disney, but […]

Why Is Pixar So Successful? Behold - The Ultimate Secret!

by Alex Weitzmanon November 11, 2006
I liken Pixar Animation Studios to the Roadrunner. No matter how many traps the coyotes of the desert try to lay down for the purpose of capturing and devouring the essence of this miraculous being, it speeds on through, turning almost any effort to siphon the powers on show into a painful instance of backlash. by Bird Boyon November 10, 2006
As a kid I watched The Little Mermaid more than I did any other Disney movie in my collection. I honestly couldn’t tell you why I preferred this one over the others, but it seemed that for months I’d watch it once a day and rarely break away from it. Perhaps it was the animation […]

by Ed Liuon November 9, 2006
A report in Variety states that movie studios are keeping a close watch on sales of Disney/Pixar’s Cars on DVD and as a digital download from the Apple iTunes Store. Cars can be purchased at the iTunes Store for $12.99, significantly lower than most retailers will be charging for the DVD. The price discrepancy is […]

"Cars" on DVD: Built for Comfort, Not for Speed

by Ed Liuon November 9, 2006
Pixar has a lot to live up to. This would be true if their only contributions to film were technological, considering the many breakthroughs they made in the field of computer animation. However, when one considers an unbroken streak of critical and box-office successes, a series of disappointing CGI-animated movies from other studios, and the […]
