Leonard Maltin Interviewed on Disney and Animation

Film critic and historian Leonard Maltin has been interviewed by DVD Talk Radio about the latest releases in the Walt Disney Treasures Collection. Maltin also talks about the state of animation and the relationship between Hayao Miyazaki and Walt Disney. A 7MB MP3 file of the 10-minute interview is available for downloading.

"G.I. Joe Special Missions: Manhattan" One-Shot Comic Coming in February

Devil’s Due Publishing has announced G.I. Joe Special Missions: Manhattan, a one-shot comic coming in February 2006 and available for pre-order now. The 48-page one-shot comic will feature a story involving a race for a biological weapon, with character profiles and a backup story introducing America’s Elite Pets.

"Gundam Seed Destiny" Manga Picked Up by Del Rey Manga

Del Rey Manga has announced the acquisition of the English-language rights to Gundam Seed Destiny, the latest manga series in the Gundam franchise. The story revolves around subterfuge that threatens to re-ignite the war between the Naturals and the Coordinators. The first volume will go on sale in July 2006.

Disney Announces Specs for "Whisper of the Heart" R1 DVD

Nausicaa.net has posted some details for Disney’s region 1 DVD release of Studio Ghibli’s Whisper of the Heart. The 2-disc set will be released on March 7, 2006, and will include a “behind the microphone” special feature, original storyboards, and trailers and TV spots.
