"Cars Toons" on Disney Channel in October

Cars Toons, a series of three shorts based on the Pixar film Cars, is coming to the Disney Channel, Toon Disney and ABC Family. The first short, Rescue Squad Mater, will air on October 27. The shorts will be directed by John Lasseter. [ Source: AWN ]

"Astro Boy" to Debut on 3,000 Screens on October 23, 2009

ICv2.com is reporting that Imagi Animation Studios’ Astro Boy has gotten a release date of October 23, 2009, and that it will debut on 3,000 screens in North America. For purposes of comparison, Disney’s WALL-E debuted on 3,992 screens, while Warner Brothers’ The Dark Knight debuted on 4,366. (via Comic Book Resources Comics Reel)
