Cartoon Network Ratings for Week 1 of May
Fueled by original series and key acquisition series hitting their stride in the prime time Monday-Thursday strip, Cartoon Network earned powerful across-the-board delivery and ratings growth vs. the same time period last year among its target kid and tween demos, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. Kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14 delivery and ratings averages for the week each advanced by double-digit gains. The network’s Saturday night action-adventure franchise, Toonami (7-11 p.m.), also averaged double-digit delivery and ratings gains among kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14, powered by a new episode of the anime series Naruto (9 p.m.), which scored triple-digit increases vs. the 2005 time period. The combined result for Cartoon Network was a #1 prime time ranking for kids 6-11 and kids 2-11 delivery for the week among all ad-supported basic cable networks.
