Call Of Duty’s New Trailer Says “Screw It, Let’s Go To Space”

by on October 25, 2016

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare comes out at the end of next week. As a final, decidedly quirky bit of hype, Activision has released this live-action trailer and given it the kind of clickbaity title that saves us reporters from having to do the work: “Screw It, Let’s Go To Space.” Watch for the Michael Phelps and Danny McBride cameos — both of them enjoy the series.

Infinite Warfare wrapped up its open beta yesterday and is now making final tweaks to the multiplayer. “We got some excellent player insights into how to best optimize our new matchmaking system and how to balance our new weapons and equipment to create the best quality matches possible for launch,” said lead multiplayer designer Joe Cecot.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be released Friday, November 4 on Playstation 4, XBox One and PC. Now for that trailer, followed by Activision’s press release.

Santa Monica, CA – October 25, 2016 –What’s a person to do when they’ve had enough of the seemingly, never-ending stream of contentious headlines day after day? Head to space, and blow off some steam, Call of Duty style, naturally! Call of Duty®: Infinite Warfare’s live-action trailer has landed. Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), is igniting its creative and marketing campaign today with the release of the new live-action launch trailer helmed by director Peter Berg of Pony Show Entertainment and featuring cameos from world champion swimmer Michael Phelps and actor Danny McBride (Vice Principals, Eastbound & Down, Tropic Thunder).  The intense :90, high-action piece is cheekily titled “Screw It, Let’s Go To Space.”

“If ever there was a year when people could use a break from the headlines for a little good old fashioned escapist entertainment, 2016 is it,” said Tim Ellis, CMO, Activision. “‘Screw It, Let’s Go To Space’ captures this feeling on a global scale and transports you into the epic gameplay and settings of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It’s a thrill ride like no other, and it’s coming November 4th.”
