Lionsgate’s upcoming Power Rangers movie just got a big marquee addition. Bryan Cranston, the award-winning actor who brought Braking Bad’s Walter White to life, and earlier protrayed Hal on Malcolm in the Middle, has been revealed as the voice of Zordon. Cranston made the announcement on his own Twitter account today.
Infamously, the show had limited footage of Zordon to work with and the team at Saban Enterprises had to blur his mouth so that they could make him say anything. This time they’ll have a higher budget, and the mighty head will be CGI, voiced by Cranston.
Believe it or not, Cranston was actually on the original show. Not as Zordon, but back when he was nobody, he supplied the voice of one of Rita’s monsters. Rita, you might have heard, is being played by Elizabeth Banks.
Rounding out the cast are Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Becky G, and Ludi Lin, who play the five Teenagers with Attitudes. The Power Rangers movie shows up in theaters March 24, 2017.
