"Bugs tries making a shelf for his Nobel Prize and accidentally damages his home in the process. Because of this, Daffy decides to stay with Porky and Speedy gets home advice from Lola."
The plot of "The Shelf" is as basic as it sounds: After Bugs destroys his home while trying to install a shelf there, Daffy and Speedy are forced to move out while it's repaired. This episode was funny, but it didn't feel all that creative. The best comedic moments include Bugs' many attempts to fix his home, Lola going crazy over bells, and Lola's encounter with Mac and Tosh Gopher. The latter in particular was great; that awkward silence when Lola breaks their valuable store mirror and confuses them for rights made for one of the best laughs I've gotten out of the show so far.
On the other hand, the moments between Daffy and Porky were weak. Daffy moving in with Porky was a clever idea that could have been a plot for another episode, but the segment here is unimaginative. The entire thing was just Daffy being a jerk as usual and pushing Porky around. It was also a bit awkward having three stories going on at once that didn't really come together. I would have personally just had Daffy help Bugs with the shelf, leaving the other half of the episode to focus on Speedy and Lola. If the writing had been just a little more thought out, I think "The Shelf" could have been even better - just like many other past episodes.
