Squee! - Captain America: Super Soldier

Captain America: Super Soldier is another upcoming game release that's shaping up to be pretty cool. It looks gorgeous and if it plays as just as well, I'll be set! In this third-person action/adventure game you'll play as Captain America and face down the Red Skull's army during World War II. The story was written by Christos Gage and is set in the movie's universe.

The trailer definitely shows that they spent a significant amount of time crafting the environment and effectively captures the feel of a war-torn region. There's not a lot of time spent with major enemies, but Captain America himself moves very smoothly. They did a good job with the physics involved in Cap's punches, kicks and leaps. His shield does not adhere to those same rules, but that's because it was constructed with the specially added element of awesomeness.

Captain America: Super Soldier will hit the Wii, DS, Xbox 360 and PS3 in July 2011, in conjunction with the movie release. If you haven't seen it already, check out Sega's blog for some more concept art. In the interim, let's enjoy some concept art featuring a Hydra zeppelin together.
