Warner Brothers Home Entertainment has announced a deluxe edition of the animated feature Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, set to hit home video shelves on October 8, 2013, on Blu-ray and DVD. The package will include both parts of the feature film directed by Jay Oliva, written by Bob Goodman (adapting Frank Miller’s famed graphic novel), and executive produced by Sam Register and Bruce Timm. Peter Weller plays an aging Batman/Bruce Wayne returning to vigilante crimefighting in a decaying Gotham City. He is joined by David Selby as Commissioner Gordon, Ariel Winter as Robin, Wade Williams as Two-Face, Michael McKean as Dr. Bartholomew Wolper, Michael Emerson as the Joker, and Mark Valley as Superman. In addition to all the bonus content released with the two earlier releases, the movie will feature a 70-minute exclusive featurette about Frank Miller, a cast-and-crew commentary track, and four exclusive collector cards with never before seen artwork.
