by on March 8, 2011

The Wall Street Journal‘s Speakeasy weblog has posted an interview about The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra with series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino, who were also co-creators of Avatar the Last Airbender. The interview is a follow-up to the first reveal of an image of the title character and the voice cast.

The pair reveal that Nickelodeon has ordered another 14 episodes in addition to the 12 initially announced, and that the initial 12 episodes are already recorded and in the process of animation. Among other topics, they also reveal the differences between this series and the original, how Korra differs from Avatar the Last Airbender‘s Aang, and a few details about the over-arching plot that will guide the new show.

The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra
will premiere in mid-2012.
