During their industry panel at Anime Central in Chicago today, Senior Events Manager Adam Sheehan announced the licensing of Gonzo’s animated re-imagining of the classic Shakespeare play, with a planned release over two 12-episode sets beginning in the spring of 2009.

Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) is set to make his animation-directing debut with an feature adaptation of Kathryn Lasky’s Guardians of Ga’Hoole, Variety reports. Village Roadshow Pictures plans animation production in Australia by Animal Logic (Happy Feet), with distribution through Warner Brothers and is likely to be ready by 2009 or 2010.
