Don Adams 1923 - 2005

Actor Don Adams has passed away at the age of 82. Best known for his role as Maxwell Smart in the TV show Get Smart, Adams also provided the voice for Inspector Gadget in the show of the same name and as a younger Gadget in Gadget Boy & Heather.

The New York Times is reporting that Michael Eisner is planning a low-key exit from Disney when his last day at work arrives this Friday (registration required). He has declined comment on his career and only agreed to a one-page retrospective in the Disney company newsletter.

IDW Announces "Transformers: Beast Wars" Comic

IDW Publishing has announced a Beast Wars mini-series to join its new Transformers comic books. Beast Wars: The Gathering will be a 4-issue mini-series launching in February 2006 by Simeon Furman, with art by Don Figueroa and Josh Burcham, following the relaunch of Transformers in January.

"Futurama" Writer Elected to Head of Writers Guild of America, West

Patric M. Verrone was elected to head the Writers Guild of America, West, winning a 69% majority of 2,012 ballots cast. Verrone’s credits include writing for Futurama, Muppets Tonight, and Rugrats. In his campaign, Verrone stated a need to better organize animation, cable, and reality TV writers.

Owen Dunne Webcomic Optioned by Fox for TV Series

Owen Dunne’s You Damn Kid! webcomic has been optioned by Fox TV to become an animated television show. Based on the content of the comic, the show is expected to follow in the tradition of irreverent animated family cartoons on Fox from The Simpsons to Family Guy.
