AOL’s In2TV Service to Deliver On-Demand TV Programming

by on November 15, 2005

America Online and Warner Brothers have announced a joint service to launch next year that will provide on-line video on demand via the Internet. Called In2TV, the service will form an on-line TV network backed by a large library of Time-Warner programming. Programming will be available in a standard quality streaming video format and a proprietary, DVD-quality format called AOL Hi-Q. Technical requirements and pricing were not detailed, but AOL did state that it would sell 1-2 minutes of advertising within each 30 minute episode of programming. AOL has also launched the official site for In2TV.

Animated offerings that are slated to be included at launch include Beetlejuice, Freakzoid, Histeria!, The New Adventures of Batman, and Pinky and the Brain. Other offerings of interest include Lois & Clark, Babylon 5, and Wonder Woman.
