Andrew Stanton on "WALL-E" and the Glass Ceiling of the Oscars

by on January 25, 2009

Sarah Ball of Newsweek‘s Pop Vox weblog has interviewed WALL-E director Andrew Stanton in the wake of the six Oscar nominations the movie racked up. Stanton talks about how WALL-E isn’t really any different in its underlying moviemaking philosophy than the other Pixar movies, why he’s OK with not landing a Best Picture nomination for WALL-E, how he approached writing EVE as a character, how the “green” initiatives never really crossed his mind while making the movie, and the prospect of a sequel to WALL-E.
