Andre 3000 To Produce Untitled Project for Cartoon Network

by on February 16, 2005

Andre 3000 of Outkast fame is set to produce and host an original series for Cartoon Network, creative director Michael Ouweleen announced today. The show follows Benji, a superstar who, after a world tour, returns to his Atlanta alma mater to replace his mentor as music teacher.

His motivation for this odd career move is a kid named Li’l D. Benji sees himself in Li’l D, Ouweleen said, “because it is himself. There’s like a time warp thing,” he said, waving his arms wildly in the air. Andre will record music for the show and provide an introduction for each episode.

The series is currently in pre-production and is set for a 2006 premiere.
