When Nicole is away, Richard decides he and the children can ignore her rules. Things soon spiral out of control when the residents of Elmore decide to join them, and take over their house in order to do whatever they want.
This was an all right episode. It had no direct reference it, but this was a continuation of “The Limit”. Richard and the kids once again misbehave in the supermarket, but without Nicole there to reign them in things don’t work out so well for them. The family getting kicked out of their own house during their own party did have shades of a certain SpongeBob SquarePants episode, but it worked out well enough and it was nice to see more of the lesser known citizens of Elmore. I also liked seeing Anais continue to act out, as I feel that the show will be better if she continues to evolve beyond the role of the know-it-all sister. This episode also had a nice joke where they poked fun at how Darwin and Gumball’s voices were changing, although I wonder how the show will explain things in season three given the news that it will use new voice actors with younger voices. That said I hope we get a break before another episode about Richard acting out comes along, as I think that plot is just about played out.
