Liz Holman, Animator, 1953 - 2014

A paid obituary in the Los Angeles Times reports that Emmy-winning animator Liz Holman has passed away at the age of 61. Holman had battled cancer for a long time. After earning an MFA in Film Graphics from the prestigious Cal Arts academy in 1979, Holman worked in the animation industry for 25 years at a variety of studios, including Richard Williams Animation, Disney, Warner Brothers, Marvel Productions and Universal Studios. She won three Emmy awards as a director for Animaniacs in 1996 and 1997, and another one for Pinky and the Brain in 1999. Other series she worked on include Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Glo Friends, Smurfs, DuckTales, Muppet Babies, Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Darkwing Duck, Garfield and Friends, Baby Blues and The Zeta Project.

Holman’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Doctors Without Borders.
