The only thing memorable about the series, as I recall, are the bumpers (audiovisual reminders of the series one is viewing). An animal would leap midair/make a sound, and then the image'd freeze; the the sultry Female voiceover would say "MANIMAL".
Sony Pictures Animation will re-animate the cult 1983 television series, “Manimal”, into a live action/CG hybrid with Will Ferrell as one of the producers. Never heard of “Manimal”? Don’t be sad, you’re probably not alone – that’s because the series received only eight lonely episodes when it ran in the autumn of 1983 on NBC. The show starred Simon MacCorkindale as Professor Jonathan Chase, who has discovered a secret link between man and animal that allows him to turn himself into the animal of his choice – ostensibly to fight crime.
MacCorkindale later went on to fame in “Falcon Crest” and British TV hospital drama series “Casualty” before succumbing to cancer in 2010.
