CBD_05791REXCLBased on the novel by Veronica Roth and directed by Neil Burger, Divergent will be released by Entertainment One across DVD, Blu-ray, VOD and download platforms in the UK on 11th August. Similar to the current trend of popular teenage aimed books/movies, Divergent focuses on a dystopian future where the population of Chicago is segregated by a leading characterisitic of each citizen- Abgenation (Selfless) Amity (Peaceful) Candor (Honest) Dauntless (Brave) or Erudite (Intelligent). At age sixteen all students are tested and required to be sorted by one of the five attributes.  Young Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) is marked as a candidate for multiple attributes and is secrectly labelled as a Divergent, a potential risk to society.  Choosing to join the Dauntless group, she is mentored in combat training by Four (Theo James) and becomes aware of a deadly conspiracy at the heart of the twisted status quo.
