Vive la Resistance! Falling Skies stars to appear at MCM London Comic Con
Falling Skies stars Drew Roy and Connor Jessup are the latest guests to be announced for this month’s MCM London Comic Con, the UK’s biggest celebration of pop. culture.
Roy and Jessup play brother Hal and Ben Mason in post-apocalypse sci-fi drama Falling Skies. Created by Saving Private Ryan writer Robert Rodat and executive produced by Steven Spielberg himself, Falling Skies charts the human resistance’s struggle for survival in the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that has left most of America in ruins.
The oldest son of resistance leader Tom Mason (Noah Wyle), Drew Roy’s character Hal is brave but impulsive, going to great lengths to rescue his brother Ben from the Skitters. Although freed from the aliens’ spinal harness, Connor Jessup’s character can still hear their communications. Joined by other formerly harnessed kids, Ben has formed an elite unit to fight against the enemy …but there are times that he still struggles with his identity.
As well as appearing in Falling Skies, Drew Roy co-starred alongside Diane Lane and John Malkovich in Secretariat. Other TV credits include playing Miley Cyrus’ love interest in the final season of Hannah Montana and guest roles on Greek, Lincoln Heights and iCarly. Meanwhile, Connor Jessup played the lead in award-winning independent film Blackbird, and recently starred in another indie feature, Skating To New York.
A fourth season of Falling Skies is due to premiere on TNT in the US this June, with the series airing on Fox UK from 15 July.
