Princess Kaguya Finishes At Cannes, Prepares For USA Release

Director Isao Takahata’s “The Tale of Princess Kaguya” finished up at the Cannes Film Festival and is now awaiting its official USA release date. The film from Takahata (who co-founded the internationally renowned Studio Ghibli with Hayao Miyazaki) tells the tale of a farmer discovering a tiny girl in a bamboo shoot who ages at a remarkably accelerated rate, and the related problems associated with that as experienced by the girl and her adoptive parents.

“The Tale of Princess Kaguya” – which was released in Japan last November – is set for a limited USA release in 2014 (possibly in conjunction with the 2014 Comic Con in San Diego) and will have its next release in South Korea on June 4, 2014.
