Deadline.com reports that China’s Mill Pictures Worldwide animation studio has opened up an office in Los Angeles, tapping High School Musical producer Bill Borden to run it. Pre-production work has also commenced on Ping Pong Rabbit, with Corpse Bride co-director Mike Johnson directing a script by High School Musical scribe Peter Barsocchini. The studio’s first movie, Dragon Nest, is based on a video game and is set for release in China in July (which is currently being shopped around for international deals at the Cannes Film Festival).
