The new online game from Bethesda Softworks – “Battlecry” – was unveiled today and one thing will be certain, there will be blood spilled. The free-to-play, multiplayer game is a team action combat game allowing for up to 32 players to fight it out in areas called WarZones. Since it is set in the late 19th century, there are no guns due to the ban on gunpowder, meaning all battles are fought by a team’s warriors in WarZones with weaponry not dependent on gunpowder. Warriors are comprised of four classes – Duelists, Enforcers, Tech Archers and Cossacks – though the game goes comically over-the-top with the blood and gore element, marrying it with warriors dressed in Victorian-era garb [as designed by Viktor Antonov of “Dishonored” fame].
“Battlecry” is currently set to launch in 2015.
