After news of a new sexual abuse lawsuit was brought against him this week, “X-Men: Days of Future Past” director Bryan Singer was pulled from this weekend’s WonderCon lineup in Anaheim [CA] promoting the upcoming film. Singer was named in a lawsuit brought by Michael Egan who alleged the abuse took place in 1998-99 when Singer was a director on a film titled “Apt Pupil” and had not yet begun his directorial debut in the X-Men film franchise. Screenplay writer Simon Kinberg will replace Singer at WonderCon.
“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is currently scheduled to be released on May 23, 2014.
- It's a shame that this is happening so soon, especially when X-Men Days of Future Past is about to hit theaters. It makes me wonder how Fox will deal with all this and whether or not Bryan Singer will be replaced as the director of the X-Men films if he's found guilty.
