The Los Angeles Times reports that Stu Snyder is stepping down as president and chief operating officer of Time Warner’s Turner Animation unit at the end of this month. Snyder held the position for six years and oversaw Turner’s animation efforts, most prominently Cartoon Network, in that time frame. Former Time Warner CFO John Martin was promoted to chief executive of Turner in January, leading to Turner’s head of sales and distribution David Levy to be named president. An anonymous source stated to the Times that increased tensions between Levy and Snyder led to the latter’s resignation. No replacement has been named yet.
