Synopsis: The Cherlene Tour takes a break to perform a “Danger Zone” duet with Kenny Loggins [but not Messina] and Lana is the lucky recipient of a baby shower thrown by her friends and colleagues.
Details: The episode opens with Cherlene/Cheryl/Carol practicing her music in historic Tunt Manor with Woodhouse on the drums and Archer on the jug. They are practicing early in the morning because it is the “golden hour” – when the light is best – but alas, Krieger keeps forgetting to record Cherlene’s tracks because he is too busy selling their cocaine stash online while overseeing the work of his anime girlfriend [who gives Malory the evil eye when confronted about her lack of cocaine packaging production].
Pregnant Lana needs a proper baby shower so Malory puts Archer and Pam in charge of making the arrangements which, of course, cannot go right. Archer whips out $400 and sends Woodhouse to get “baby shower stuff” and not heroin while Archer’s baby shower gift to Lana is going to be tickets to see his hero Kenny Loggins perform “Danger Zone” in a concert. But when Archer attempts to approach Loggins to inquire about the tickets, Loggins mistakes him for a rabid fan and has his bodyguard, Ricky, taser him while Pam watches and laughs. Effectively snuffed, Archer decides on a Plan B – disguising himself and Pam as room service wait staff in order to infiltrate Loggins’ suite – but “K-Log” easily discovers the ruse and an all-out battle ensues between Loggins and Ricky and Archer and Pam that results in Archer saving Loggins life after Pam shoots a hole in the glass-bottomed swimming pool in his suite.
With everybody now on the same page, Loggins performs a “Danger Zone” duet with Cherlene back at historic Tunt Manor while everybody gives Lana baby shower gifts – one of which is Archer’s old crib, though Archer never intended to give her his crib.
The Poop and Skinny: Top four things to remember from this episode…
The golden hour is actually two hours – the first and last sunlight of each day.
Two games for Lana’s baby shower – Don’t Drop the Baby and the Dirty Diaper game.
K-Log is close to K-Fed, which didn’t work for Kevin Federline either.
A hootenanny requires no specific reason to exist.
The coveted TZ Best Line of the Episode Award goes to Archer, who gets knocked over backward on his chair while playing the jug – “Jug down!”
