In conjunction with the upcoming Season 5 premiere of Archer, FX rolled a special “Archer Debonair Repair” glass-paneled van into New York City, and the fact that it was parked just a few blocks away from my office made it pretty easy to dash out and grab a few photos of the van on site:
Identities of the ISIS agents getting their debonair repaired have been digitally blurred for security reasons. You know how it is these days.
Unfortunately, the estimated wait time for a cut, style, and shine Archer-style was about an hour when I stopped by the van, so I had to settle for one of the “tactleneck” sweaters they were giving out. It turned out to be a branded, high-necked T-shirt, but it’s a nice one that defies the rule that I’m never comfortable in long-sleeved T-shirts. Plus, the tactleneck combined with the Archer watch cap I picked up at this year’s New York Comic Con Archer panel made me so super-suave, tacticool, and spy-riffic that I managed to sneak up on myself to get a surprise selfie (and, as you can see, I really hate surprises when I’m trying to sneak around all suave and tacticool-like).
At this rate, I should have a complete set of Archer branded-clothing in time for the season 8 premiere in 2017.
If you’re in New York and missed the Debonair Repair van today, you’ll have one more chance when it sets up shop on Friday, January 10, 2014, at 23rd St between Madison & Park. If you miss THAT, you’ll have one more chance at free personal grooming services when FX takes over Gee Star Cuts at 3145 E. Tremont Avenue in the Bronx on Saturday, January 11, 2014, in conjunction with the Chozen series premiere. Archer Season 5 premieres on FX on Monday, January 13, 2014, at 10:00 PM (ET/PT), followed by the premiere of Chozen at 10:30 PM (ET/PT).
