"Frozen" Bounces Back to Top Box Office Spot in Week 6

Disney’s Frozen made a surprisingly strong showing in its sixth weekend of release, with $20.7 million (estimated) in ticket sales moving it back to the top spot at the box office ahead of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (which had grossed more than Frozen at the box office since the latter film’s release on December 13, 2013). The animated musical has now grossed over $297.8 million domestically, and is on track to clear the $300 million mark by the end of the week. The numbers make it the third highest sixth-weekend gross in box office history, and the second movie to take the top spot in ticket sales in its sixth weekend (the other being James Cameron’s Avatar in 2010).
