NBCU made it official and bought the preschool kids network Sprout from the other two members – PBS and HIT – of the previous ownership consortium. According to third quarter 2013 Nielsen data, the Sprout network, with 164,000 total day average viewers, currently sits second behind Nick, Jr. from Nickelodeon/Viacom [345,000] and just above The Hub [Discovery/Hasbro] with 127,000.
