More Guests Announced For MCM Birmingham Comic Con & Memorabilia

MCM Birmingham Comic Con and Memorabilia, Britain’s biggest collectors’ event, both come to the NEC on 23-24 November and there’ll be a host of guests attending alongside all the comic creators, videogames and retailers. Our last round-up included cast reunions for Red Dwarf and Quadrophenia, stars from sci-fi shows Haven and Primeval and a host of Doctor Who actors, but that’s just scratching the surface of our special guest line-up!

·       MASTERS OF HORROR – horror-themed special guests include Marilyn Burns, best known for her roles in Tobe Hooper’s horror cult films The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Eaten Alive; Melanie Kinnaman, best known for her role in the 1985 horror film Friday the 13th: A New Beginning; John Dugan, best known for his role in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Texas Chainsaw 3D; Oliver Robins, best known for his role as Robbie Freeling in the 1982 movie Poltergeist and in its 1986 sequel Poltergeist II: The Other Side; Hammer Horror star Caroline Munro (Captain Kronos – Vampire Hunter, Dracula AD 1972); Laurence R. Harvey and Emma Lock from the cult Human Centipede films; indie horror star Eileen Daly (Razor Blade Smile, Cradle of Fear) and Emily Booth (Doghouse, Cradle of Fear).

·       JAMES BOND actors attending the show include Richard Kiel (Happy Gilmore, Tangled) who played steel-toothed Jaws in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker; Martine Beswick (One Million Years BC) who played Zara in From Russia With Love and Paula Caplan in Thunderball; Tania Mallet, who played Tilly Masterson in Goldfinger; Caroline Munro (The Golden Voyage of Sinbad) who played Naomi in The Spy Who Loved Me; and Earl Cameron (The Queen, The Andromeda Breakthrough) who played Bond and Felix Leiter’s assistant Pinder in Moonraker.

·       Craig Fairbrass has starred in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles; EastEnders, Prime Suspect and Stargate SG-1 as renegade Jaffa Arkad. His videogame roles include Ghost in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Sgt. Wallcroft in CoD: Modern Warfare 3 and Gaz in CoD 4: Modern Warfare.

·       Best known for his role as Charlie Slater in EastEnders, Derek Martin is a regular on British TV, with shows ranging from Doctor Who to The Sweeney, Only Fools And Horses to The Bill, including a guest spot on Little Britain!

·       As well as taking on Hulk Hogan as WWF wrestler Zeus, Tom ‘Tiny’ Lister has appeared in major movies such as The Dark Knight; The Fifth Element; Jackie Brown; Universal Soldier and Austin Powers in Goldmember.

·       American actor Daphne Ashbrook has starred in a host of popular TV shows, including  Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; Doctor Who; NCIS; Law & Order: LA; The O.C.; The A-Team; Murder, She Wrote and Knight Rider.

·       Emily Booth has appeared in a host of cult favourites, including Tarantino/Rodriguez double feature Grindhouse; BAFTA nominated short film Inferno; Pervirella, Cradle of Fear and horror comedy Doghouse.

·       Cast and crew from recent Birmingham-shot paranormal mystery thriller The Casebook of Eddie Brewer, including writer/director Andrew Spencer and stars Ian Brooker and Sean Connolly.

·       British horror and fantasy writer Sam Stone, award-winning author of The Vampire Gene series, horror novella The Darkness Within and steampunk short novels Zombies At Tiffany’s and Kat On A Hot Tin Airship.

·       Sunday sees Wolves legends Steve Bull, Andy Mutch and Jody Cradock signing at Memorabilia. Bull and Mutch enjoyed a prolific goalscoring partnership during their years at Molineux, while Cradock rose to club captain, making 237 appearances during a decade-long stay at the club.

·       Glamour models Holly Mcguire, Megan Mcguire, Kyla Cole, Monica Harris, Charlotte Devaney, Lucy Zara, Levi, Porchia Watson and Big Brother’s Bex Shiner will be signing photos and their 2014 calendars.
