The National Toy Hall of Fame is toying with your affections for the next month after they announced their 12 finalists for the two iconic toys to be added to the cases and shelves of the National Toy Hall of Fame in Rochester, New York. A national selection committee will choose from bubbles, chess, Clue, Little People [Fisher-Price], little green Army men, Magic 8-Ball, My Little Pony, Nerf, Pac-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, scooter and rubber duck. The winners will be selected based on longevity, innovation and fostering learning, creativity and discovery through play. Any toy may be nominated and there are currently 51 toys in the NTHF with last year’s entries dominoes and Star Wars action figures. Oddsmakers in Vegas place chess and TMNT as favorites to win.

The two winners will be announced at the National Toy Hall of Fame in Rochester, New York on November 7, 2013.
