Tvshowsondvd,com reports that Warner Archives will bring the 80s cartoon series Space Stars on DVD October 8 with Space Stars: The Complete Series.
The series brings back the classic heroes Space Ghost and the Herculoids in a series of new adventures and also introduce us to the Teen Force and Astro (Yes, the same Astro from The Jetsons) and the Space Mutts.
Space Stars was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, and aired on NBC in 1981. The cartoon features the voices of Gary Owens (Roger Ramjet, and Rowan & Martin’s Laugh In) as Space Ghost, Mike Road (Race Bannon from Jonny Quest) as Zandor, Tundro, Zok, and Igoo, Virginia Gregg (the voice of Norman Bates’s mom in Psycho) as Tara, Sparky Marcus (Richie Rich) as Dorno, Michael Bell (Duke from G.I. Joe) as Space Ace, Don Messick (the original voice of Scooby-Doo) as Astro, Gloop, and Gleep, Darryl Hickman (brother of Dobie Gillis star Dwayne Hickman) as Kid Comet, B.J. Ward ( Scarlett from G.I. Joe) as Elektra, Alexandra Stewart as Jan, Steve J. Spears as Jace, Frank Welker (Fred from Scooby-Doo, Megatron from The Transformers, and Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget) as Cosmo and Blip the space monkey, David Raynr as Moleculad, Lennie Weinrib (H.R. Pufnstuf, The New Adventures of Batman, and the original voice of Scrappy-Doo) as Dipper, Allan Lurie (Mezmaron from Pac-Man)as Uglor, and Michael Winslow (Larvelle Jones from the Police Academy movies) as Glax and Plutem.
The series will feature 11 one hour shows and includes the never-before seen “Space Science” segments.¬† Space Stars: The Complete Series will be out on October 8, 2013 and will be sold through Warner’s Manufacture on Demand program.
