NTSF:SD:SUV:: Episode Recap – The Extra Terrorist-rial – Season 3, Episode 3
Synopsis: One day, Trent is minding his own business relaxing at home when he spies the neighbor’s kid talking to a doghouse and soon discovers that the neighbors may be harboring illegal aliens [of the cosmic variety] and not only that – Daisy seems to have an extra alien stashed in her lab – what could all this mean to the Gaslamp District of San Diego?
Details: Trent’s neighbor Beth [Michaela Watkins – “Saturday Night Live”] is recently divorced and looking for love in all the wrong places and her son Billy is harboring an illegal alien in his doghouse. Not one of those illegal aliens from Tijuana but one of those from another solar system that looks sorta like a third-grader’s interpretation of what “ALF” used to look like. This alien’s name is Paxton and he came to Earth with a female alien companion named Lilly who went missing shortly after they landed and somehow ended up in Daisy’s lab at NTSF:SD:SUV headquarters while Paxton wound up in little Billy’s doghouse.
Through his window one night, Trent spies Billy talking to Paxton and immediately comes to the conclusion that Billy is smuggling illegal aliens into San Diego. Trent grills Billy in the NTSF interrogation room where Billy claims Paxton is his friend but Trent concludes that Paxton is a foreigner and, hence, a terrorist who he plans to entrap by dressing up as a bottle of ketchup for a daytime Halloween celebration [apparently a San Diego-only phenomenon]. Meanwhile Daisy is harboring/torturing the female alien, Lilly, in her lab in an effort to maintain a friend and periodically subduing Lilly with drugs to keep her from escaping. Despite a brazen non-high speed Segway escape attempt, Trent captures Paxton during the Halloween celebration and brings him in to the lab where the two aliens reunite only to have Trent seemingly kill Paxton when his finger alights unexpectedly.
Lilly, however, heals Paxton and the pair then destroy the Gaslamp District as they take over San Diego and the episode ends with an eponymous e-cigarette guy suggesting that everybody is an alien…
The Poop and Skinny: Do aliens like wine coolers? A legitimate question.

“Aliens were made up by Gene Roddenberry for indoor kids.” [Kove – Kate Mulgrew – in assessing the child terrorist alien threat].
“Child terrorists are the worst kind. No morals. Fueled by candy and movies on their iPad.” [also Kove]
NTSF:SD:SUV opening disclaimer – “Tonight’s episode of “NTSF:SD:SUV” is presented in a foreign language – if your foreign language happens to be English.
The episode makes pop cultural scene references to “ALF” [Paxton], “E.T – The Extraterrestrial” and “X-Files” [e-cigarette smoking guy].
In the Adult Swim weekly lineup, “NTSF:SD:SUV” appears directly after “Childrens Hospital” – this week’s CH episode featured a character supposedly trapped in a time loop [based on the popular “Groundhog Day” film starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell] and was followed by this episode featuring Andie MacDowell lookalike Watkins in the lead guest role. A result of a possible combination time worm loop hole and some bad sour cream?
