Synopsis: Somebody has stolen Kove’s “burn book”, Trent has faked his death and Daisy insists on being called by a new nickname – Gadget Girl.
Details: In an opening homage to James Bond movies, Kove has Alphonse pretend to kill Trent while he is in possession of her “burn book” [her book containing nasty comments on others] but the burn book falls into the wrong hands and the tipoff to the culprit seems to come when the NTSF:SD:SUV security system is seemingly hacked when a GIF of Kove comes dancing across the organization’s computer screen announcing that her profile has been hacked, but Daisy blows off the GIF’s by claiming they are just her attempts to come up with a funny GIF for Kove [Kate Mulgrew] when her profile is actually hacked because she is too busy reminding everybody that she would now like to be called “Gadget Girl”. With Trent temporarily out of the picture, Sam picks up the slack as the “new Trent” but is unable to pull off Trent’s one-liners or sunglasses and gap-tooth look since everybody is aware that his signature is the awkward hug.
While Daisy is trying to convince everybody that she should be called Gadget Girl, the real system hacker gets fed up waiting to discovered and finally comes forth – it is Kove’s only daughter, Gail [Alia Shawkat] – and kidnaps Kove while Kove continually calls by a variety of different names as she attempts to push her away. Sam tries to go undercover as a nanny named Mrs. Sugar Bottom to try and determine the whereabouts of Gail but only succeeds in being injured by Kove’s two pre-teen sons.
Meanwhile, Trent has faked his death and adopted a cover as Guy Person, who works at the Pick-A-Puffin kiosk in a typical suburban mall until he learns of Kove’s kidnapping and makes a triumphant return to fight off Gail and her hired henchman and all is well again in the NTSF:SD:SUV world….until next week.
The Poop and Skinny: Trent dances around while fumbling with a gun immersed in a stylized intro a la the openings of the James Bond films.
Another James Bond reference – Daisy’s adoption of the gadget geek persona – is paired with the more obvious “Inspector Gadget” reference.
Trent is found working at the Jason Mraz Indoor Mall.
Mrs. Sugar Blossom = “Mrs. Doubtfire” reference.
NTSF:SD:SUV opening disclaimer – “Tonight’s episode of “NTSF:SD:SUV” tops the list of C&C Music Factory’s “Things That Make You Go Hmmm…”.
A fake “Mrs. Sugar Blossom” movie promo runs after the completion of the episode – featuring Sam as Mrs. Sugar Blossom being repeatedly hit in the man-vegetables by various items.
Guy’s favorite dessert? Why mochi, of course!
Trent comes up with a new nickname for Daisy – Ponch.
