SDCC2013: Comic-Con 2013 Day Two Recap: Veronica Mars, Vikings and Zombies
Day Two of Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego is always a busy day and with the recent cultural obsession with zombies, it is perhaps fitting that 1979’s “Dawn of the Dead” – George Romero’s sequel to his 1968 “Night of the Living Dead” film that introduced a zombie apocalypse to the world – will be receiving a 3D treatment and re-release at an undisclosed date, but most likely in 2014.
There was a sneak peek trailer for the “Veronica Mars” movie, which was funded on Kickstarter to the tune of nearly six million American dollars. The film wraps its shooting next week and is slated for an early 2014 release via Warner Bros.
Vin Diesel presented a trailer for his upcoming film “Riddick” and is expected to be play the role of Vision in “Avengers 2” – hinting at his role in the Disney/Marvel sequel which will be officially announced at the D223 Expo in Anaheim next month.
AMC showed a Season Four trailer and announced that their popular zombie series “The Walking Dead” will premiere on October 13, 2013.
ABC unveiled not merely a trailer but the entire pilot episode of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” which will debut on September 24, 2013.
Finally, the History Channel debuted the trailer for Season Two of “Vikings” the Norse saga.
